The conference was organized according to AFEI plan in cooperation with the National Institute for Standards in Egypt with the aim of deepening knowledge of metrology and calibration in the Arab world, and encouraging coordination and integration among the Arab institutions of metrology towards supporting the credibility of measurement and calibration in the Arab countries which contributes to increasing the competitiveness of the Arab products.
The event linked the manufacturers of Calibration devices with the users of metrology and calibration hardware as well as the metrology institutes and institutions in the Arab countries, and provided an opportunity for cooperation amongst them.
An important outcome of this Conference was the birth of the Arab Federation for Metrology and Calibration.
